Sair tae Bear
It doesn’t get much more painful than this. We finally get two games played and lose both by the tightest of margins. How often do we hear “just one ball, it just takes one ball”? Yesterday both of these balls went the wrong way.
The Firsts were at Arbroath, chasing a fairly modest target of 186, only to lose their last wicket in the last over. Twelve points to Arbroath Utd and only five to us. It leaves us still third in the league, but Stenhousemuir is right behind us with the same number of points.
Meanwhile the Twos were at home to Watsonians Twos. Had we batted out our overs, we might have had these crucial extra runs on the board, but as it was, Watsonians, batting second, just edged it. Second-last ball, I was told.
Next Saturday has the Firsts at home to Drumpellier, the Twos away to Glenrothes.
More to come, though. We are hosting the SCU Trophy Final on Sunday 5th August, between Irvine and either St Modans or Huntly, that semi getting played today, 29th July.
And more! We are hosting the two-day Under 17s International between Scotland and Holland on 9th and 10th of August. Get along to Freuchie Pleasure Park and enjoy the cricket!
