Tour Bites Dust
Sad to say, we have had to cancel our plans for a pre-season tour.
Hard times all round and too many of our guys finding £140 not easy to spare. In truth, it has to be admitted that by the time you add your lemonade money, it could be a dear weekend.
We’ll try to get something that doesn’t involve travel and accommodation to take its place.
In the meantime, pool, darts and dominos with the Glenrothes lads on Saturday 6th March. Beats touring any day!

The 10 Best Things in Lime Green (& a bonus drink) list has missed another “Lime Green” item… the Freuchie Football Club team strip for season 2009 –2010, courtesy of their sponsor GRD.
The team and the management turned out yesterday for the annual team photo.

Travelling People
Freuchie Cricket Club’s Grand Pre-Season Tour!
Places for eighteen people. We have to make sure we have enough players on the tour, but we want supporters too – good party-goers, because this is all about a bit of cricket and a bit of party.
Leave Kirkcaldy station six pm-ish on evening of Friday 9th April. Destination Newcastle and on a bit. (It’s so important to be precise about these things). Rail fares, onward travel, bed and breakfast for two nights, £140 all in. What a deal.
Match venues have still to be finalised, but we’ll have games on Saturday and Sunday 10th and 11th April.
We MUST pay deposits on the hotel, so all your £140s MUST be paid by 7th March. Contact Kenny on 07818 504 939 to book your place and for any more details.
HELP! MURDER!! POLIS!!!!
We have been warned that on Saturday 20th March, three desperate criminals will be on the run.
Known as The Three Commandos, these kilted (don’t ask) ruffians will break out from Perth Prison to make their way to a secret hide-out. Kenny (The Menace) Crichton, Dale (Youngcoo) Cowan and Michael Jackson (Jacko The Cracker) have fifteen hours to get to their destination, where their collars will be felt by the local polis to verify fact and time of arrival.
There will be a total of ten teams in the Jail Break, all operating under different constraints – can’t use any form of transport that uses fuel, mustn’t spend any money, mustn’t have a pint for two weeks before (all right, I made the last one up) or whatever. Trophies will be awarded to those who get furthest / have the fanciest destination / show most originality in modus operandi etc.
“Cui bono?” as they say in the better class of detective fiction. Who stands to gain by this criminal activity? The aim is to raise funds for the refurbishment of the Black Watch Museum in Perth, the event organised by Alan Duncan (oor Duffer) of the Grey Lodge Settlement in Dundee. (Grey Lodge works in all sorts of different ways to get help to people who need it and is a worthy cause in itself). In the case of The Three Commandos, half the money raised will go to the Black Watch Museum appeal, with half to Freuchie Cricket Club.
Get your hand in your pocket and your name on a sponsor sheet! There’s some behind the bar in the club, or speak to Duffer (07790 026 124), Kenny (07818 504 939), Mike (07800 691 059) or Dale (07716 317 948).
We are also looking for people who might be able to help in whatever way – accessories before or after the fact, as it were. Talk to one of these guys if you want a bit of previous against your name!

Events
The quickest of notes – Old Folks day on Sunday was a great success. Thanks as always to Jim Hepburn and his team, to Grace Black and her team, and to our own team – tattlie peelers and bashers, haggis providers and waiting staff alike. Great to see Captain Galzo turning out for the occasion.
But what’s to come?
Friday 12th February – Family Nite Oot. Entry free. Disco and games. Half past seven until late. Jock jean and the bairns – get up there an boogie!
Saturday 27th February – dance the night away with Mikey-B. £3 ticket, eight pm to late.
